The Epicurean School Of Culinary Arts

Would you like to be a chef in your very own restaurant or would you prefer to work at a five star restaurant in a big city? Maybe you would like to create sugar art and specialize only in desserts? There are so many branches that you can pursue in the culinary arts and the beginning for whatever you will choose is a solid education.

One of the most prestigious and reputed culinary arts schools in the USA is the Epicurean School which is located in Los Angeles, California. The Epicurean School was established in 1985 by graduates of the renowned Culinary Institute of America. The curriculum at the culinary school is based on what is taught at the Culinary Institute but in a more intense version.

The Epicurean school has become well known for its French cooking techniques. These techniques are extensive and yet very accessible by both full-time and part-time students. The educational offerings at the Epicurean school are actually divided into several different sections. The first two focus on becoming a professional chef, there are three that deal with learning all about baking, and there is also one department devoted to cake and cake decorating.

The cake decorating classes teach students all of the basics of cake decorating from the most simple cakes all the way to the more elaborate, spectacular special-event gateaux cakes.

The main emphasis of study at the school is classic French cuisine. Students are provided the training that they need in order to become professional chefs, or just to cook to professional chef standards. The professional chef sections are usually designed for students who are more serious about pursuing careers as professional chefs.

The Epicurean School can also provide some beginner classes, that teach students cooking basics and how to handle kitchen equipment properly. These classes prepare the beginner cook for going on to take the higher level professional chef courses.

All of the classes offered at the school tend to offer students plenty of hands-on learning which will permits them to experience cooking like professionals. If you are considering having a career as a chef or in another area of the culinary arts, you will be making a very good choice by attending the Epicurean School of Culinary Arts.
